We should at least mention some lawyer-type stuff.

You can't do that… or maybe you can.

It'd be good to live in a decent world where lawyers & legalities were as unnecessary as sunglasses in the British summer. But we don't.

So here's the lowdown on all that copyright, trademark, user agreement & other legal stuff that you just can't wait to read.

Access.

Basically, 'you agree to access and use this site subject to whatever we write on this and accompanying pages'.

If you don't… go away, etcetera.

Privacy.

You may use this site anonymously.

We don't use cookies (a small file exchanged between server and browser), logs (although the server routinely logs site access, we've far better things to do than bother to read the stuff it collects) or any other methods to track viewers and pages.

So feel free to wear a disguise, but don't worry—nobody's watching or taking notes.

The 'tell someone about this site' feature uses a cookie to prevent hacking and the sending of unsolicited email.

Your info.

Assuming you don't go retro and phone or send us something in the mail, the only time we get to know who you are is from info sent through email and the webpage forms.

We use that info solely to deal with the issue and don't/won't disclose to others [unless required by law in which case we'll sell you straight up the river] or leave it lying around where someone will find it.

So feel free to submit your name, email address, innermost secrets and anything else you hold near and dear—secure in the knowledge it'll likely be almost instantly forgotten.

Slapping-on a restriction is completely against our ethos. And effectively pointless—the difficulties of enforcement don't even merit consideration.

So we'll not get into that whole 'it's all mine and you can't have any' dance.

Anything we design or write is freely available for use as you see fit. Take it and do something good. Just be decent.

Stuff we  have been inspired by  swiped when nobody was looking or which genuinely belongs to others [and, for avoidance of doubt, 'belongs to others' includes almost all the images and much else besides] is a whole other issue.

Use your own best judgment. Although we won't slap you around—others might.

Accuracy of information.

'It's the truth—to the best of our knowledge.'

In not wanting to mislead, we try to be (and believe we are) accurate in the stuff we publish. That said, we're allowing ourselves the little wiggle-out of 'this site is provided for information, as is, without warranty'.

So, if it all goes wrong because of 'something you read on the internet' please don't come whinin'—we have enough problems already.

Anything else?

If you bang your head on the monitor trying to read our small fonts, or doze-off and miss the latest episode of CSI, that's your problem not ours.

So then, that's about it. Now we know, let's all move on.
