One site to rule them all, and in the brightness enlighten them?
What happened to the other sites?
So, after just a month we axed InnerpreneurNotes. Short-lived? Hell, InnerpreneurEnterprise lasted just two weeks.
Rather than kill 'em dead, they're simply resting—and will return someday. In their place is Innerpreneuring, which combines the best of the two and adds more.
For anyone interested, here's the story…
InnerpreneurNotes simply can't fulfil its stated role of 'communal weblog from various Innerpreneurs'. At least not yet.
Why? There's simply neither the quality nor quantity of available material—there's not enough Innerpreneurs and they're not writing enough of the appropriate stuff.
A couple weeks into it, the initial plan of 'kickstart it with our own material' clearly wasn't going to work.
At about that point we'd also just launched InnerpreneurEnterprise to 'help Innerpreneurs become more business-savvy'. Some of the content planned for the site got diverted to InnerpreneurNotes, some got outings on both sites, and it was all getting a tad messy.
As I had difficulty keeping clear on what-was-where-and-why, it'd quickly become counter-productively complex and leaping between the sites would just confuse people (I was already baffled).
'Fuck it, pull 'em… roll-out a hybrid' was the only sane solution to a problem that should never have arisen.
So, after a weekend recoding we have Innerpreneuring:
If you're already an Innerpreneur, or are thinking about becoming one, this'll help you become a better one.
That's what it says on the label and that's exactly what it does.
We took the stuff already posted at both sites, shuffled it a bit and opened for business.
Why the remix? Simple:
- InnerpreneurNotes was always the gentler of the two, angled toward the philosophy of being an Innerpreneur.
- InnerpreneurEnterprise was harder, a no-nonsense punches-not-pulled consideration of the business-end of things.
- Simply maintaining the chronological order was more-than-daft—after a couple weeks fairly soft pieces from InnerpreneurNotes, when the material from InnerpreneurEnterprise kicked-in it was as if the evil twin arrived. Just too jarring.
So, we changed the order, hacked the dates, and here we are.
