Who's doing what?
Consider this a follow-on to 'I once wrote some stuff.', in which I noted, with some regret, that much of 'report' was my doing, albeit often tagged as 'Tara' or 'Kris'.
The carry-forward from that to this piece is that I was acting in 'a hopefully short-term role until others get their heads together'. Three weeks on, and it's time for an update which hints at bigger changes.
My 'I'll go first, you shy people follow… come in on the chorus when you're ready' lead-by-example ethos hasn't worked. Although I never expected 'equal participation', I do want better than what's been done thus far in a currently-unacceptable situation.
'twas clear from the 'outburst' in 'Wake-up, wise-up!' that I was less-than-happy with progress:
Yes, you do detect some dissent in the ranks. I'm fed-up and bemused with my other collaborators back-seating.
I've sat-back and waited for others to add stuff and at-least meet our informal quota of a minimum two pieces daily.
Fairly easy to work with, I don't make people 'earn' their role and I've better to do than 'bully' people into considering things appropriately. I just don't operate that way, preferring instead my usual line of:
- I've seen what you're doing.
- There's common ground between us.
- I'm proposing [this], which should enable you to do all you wanted to and more, in a manner which is easier, more satisfying, better for your clients, and with higher profits too.
- Interested?
- Here's what I want from you, so if you're up for it let's get on with what needs to be done…
Well, thus far it's all been more-than-a-little one-sided. And the answer to 'Are they taking it seriously and making a decent effort?' is a firm 'no!'. It's only recently Kris began to step-up, and it's still not enough. And the situation with Tara is markedly deteriorating and in flux.
One of the net effects of this is that most of the pieces are still 'mine', and today we've shifted strategy to reflect this… by sidelining our earlier preference of 'at least two pieces posted daily Monday-Friday, 12-or-so weekly, and reasonably split between the three of us'. Instead…
- We'll each now fire-in whatever-whenever we reasonably deem appropriate.
- I'll 'revisit' (edit, change author attribution) existing posts to better reflect the true state of things.
