Books and belief.
Proper knowledge and skills-based training.
Over the years I've done the odd bit of consulting for Network Marketing companies, coaches and distributors.
A business sector that's very different to Innerpreneuring, they share one thing… many of the practitioners know and care little about what's required to build a decent thriving business.
So, what's here is an edit of an archive entry, posted because it's entirely relevant.
Here's what I wrote.

In 'The Dalai Lama's answer to: what book should I read to become a Buddhist?', Klaver covers 'becoming serious and successful in Network Marketing':
A member of the audience asked the Dalai Lama 'what book should I read to become a Buddhist?' Here was his response:
'Hmm. If you want to become a Buddhist practitioner, and you are serious about this path, you cannot just read a book. You can read a book to get information, yes. But to take this path, you must study and practice every day. It takes a long time and you must practice every day if you seriously want to pursue this path. You cannot become enlightened in a week!'
Next time, if someone asks you 'What book should I read to become successful in MLM?' you will have an answer.
Is becoming a successful Network Marketer any different than becoming an accomplished spiritual person (regardless of the specific spiritual path)?
If someone doesn't practice say, their language approaches every day, how will they ever become accomplished? It's not as easy as reading a book.
Good, sensible stuff which highlights the need for some practical action rather than just 'think and grow rich' abundance-wishing.
